Cigna Rehab Insurance
Cigna Rehab Insurance For Substance Abuse
Battling a drug or alcohol addiction is hard, and finding the right treatment center can be even harder. It can be stressful trying to figure out the costs and insurance plans that will cover addiction treatment. At Healthy Life Recovery, we are proud to be in-network with Cigna insurance. Cigna Rehab Insurance provides substance abuse treatment coverage for many insurance plans in the United States and globally.
We want to eliminate those fears of treatment facility costs so that you can solely focus on your recovery. Give our San Diego drug rehab a call to see if your insurance plan contains the coverage for your needs. We want your mental, physical, and behavioral health.
Cigna rehab insurance may offer coverage for the following addictions:
- Alcohol
- Heroin
- Prescription opioids
- Marijuana
- Methamphetamine
- Cocaine
- Benzodiazepines
- Prescription stimulants
- Sleep aids/sedatives
Treatment programs for drug and alcohol addictions are covered depending on your specific plan, which includes:
- Drug rehab
- Alcohol rehab
- Detoxification
- Addiction therapy
Health insurance from a Cigna plan varies, so coverage will differ depending on your plan. For example, their lowest plan bronze, offers low premiums, but a person will encounter higher deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses.
When it comes to substance abuse treatment, coverage will also vary depending on the state you live in. Contact Cigna health insurance to review your policy and determine what treatment services can be covered with your plan.
Outpatient Treatment Costs
Outpatient treatment takes place in mental health clinics or rehab facilities that offer outpatient treatment. Inpatient and outpatient differ, in not having to stay overnight with outpatient care. Instead, a person can come and go for ongoing treatment. At Healthy Life Recovery, we offer outpatient treatment from sober living, dual diagnosis, and therapy programs.
Outpatient programs are suitable for people who need to remain at home and work, and can do so. A person has the ability to build the skills they need to handle their daily struggles.
Routine outpatient care can consist of therapy sessions every week. The frequency of therapy will depend on the person’s needs. These sessions can happen in the evenings and weekends, so it does not interfere with a person’s work.
Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) may involve 10-20 hours of therapy and counseling, and over 3 days a week. IOP can last for months, and an even more intense form is referred to as day hospital. This means the frequency of treatment is usually 5 days a week.
- You can’t or don’t want to quit work or take a leave of absence
- You want to be close to loved ones
- Your home environment is stable enough to stay away from drugs or alcohol
- Inpatient treatment is too expensive
In order for outpatient treatment to be successful, it’s important to go to sessions on a regular basis. Getting other support, whether from Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, can be beneficial as well. Support from loved ones, reliable transportation, and a stable home environment are all essential in the success of outpatient treatment.
No matter what treatment you receive, it is crucial to stay committed to a drug-free and sober lifestyle. Receiving help for a rehab center can help make healthy changes for a long-lasting recovery.
How Does Cigna Rehab Insurance Coverage Work?
As mentioned before, the level of Cigna rehab insurance coverage will depend on the plan and state a person resides in. Typically, preauthorization (prior approval) is required for substance use disorders. Cigna will determine if the treatment and equipment are medically necessary for the condition. If a person does not meet the preauthorization process requirements, they may be responsible for the full pay.
A person may be required to meet a deductible or pay a copayment if the services are not fully covered. A copayment is simply a flat amount you pay for the services provided. A deductible is what a person pays before Cigna pays covered services.
By receiving substance abuse treatment from an in-network provider can help a person avoid paying full costs. In-network providers have agreed-upon prices for services with a specific health plan. This is generally a way lower cost than not having insurance. Out-of-network providers do not have agreed-upon prices and will be charged more for services.
What Is Cigna Employee Assistance Program?
Methadone is a neurotic used to treat heroin addiction, helping reduce withdrawal symptoms with detox. Aetna rehab insurance does cover methadone treatment, but it will depend on a few factors. For instance, your plan, location of treatment, and substance abuse history will all play a factor if methadone treatment is covered.
What Cigna Rehab Insurance Can Do For You
Relying on Aetna to cover the costs of treatment can be a huge relief and peace of mind. This way, you will be able to solely focus on your recovery and well-being. Extra stressors such as insurance issues should not be part of the recovery process.
If you currently have Aetna rehab insurance, know that there is a good chance that your treatment center costs will be partially or fully covered. If you or a loved one is battling an addiction, being alone doesn’t have to be the option. Call Healthy Life Recovery today to verify your insurance or if you need medical advice about addiction.

My intention was to stay only 30 days, however, I stayed almost one year. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kept me engaged. I stayed at two sober living homes throughout my stay and they were both very clean and nice. The treatment and therapy I received was also quite helpful. I had been struggling with some major mental issues since August of 2024, which is when I admitted myself into a mental health facility for six nights and seven days in the San Fernando Valley. I wasn't able to get the proper after care treatment in Los Angeles due to Red Tape and lack of facilities. I reached out to Mädchen Amic who is the Founder/President of the Don't Mind Me Foundation in Palm Springs, Ca.I worked with her on Twin Peaks , Then Twin Peaks:The Return, and knew about her Foundation, and let her know my current situation. She was aware my past struggles. She contacted Keith Blanenship, who is the Executive Director at Healthy Life Recovery in San Diego,Ca.Within minutes, Keith contacted me. After a few minutes on then phone, He invited me down to check out their programs and facilities. The next day I drove down and was greeted by Keith. He gave me a guided tour of their operations. I was then introduced to Bonnie Mitchell, who is the Clinical Director at Healthy Life Recovery.Within seconds, I knew I had found the right home to get the help needed. What I didn't realize is that Mädchen had arranged a sponsorship thru The Don't Mind Me Scholarship Fund. I checked in two days later and had my Intake meeting with Bonnie. When that ended, I was then sent to my house I would be living at for a undecided amount of time. I want to thank Jody (House Captain) and my other six roommates who made me feel welcome and relaxed during my stay. My day consisted of four classes, medical checkups and weekly one on ones with Bonnie. Weekend events such as giving back to the community (Trash Clean Ups, Graffiti Removal), Hiking, Kickball, Volleyball, Softball, Canoeing are just some of the weekend events provided. After three weeks I felt I was ready to get back home, which was a tough decision because I enjoyed every second of my experience at Healthy Life Recovery. I am am now on their Out Patient program which includes daily assignments, Telehealth appointments and in person appointments with them once a month.I enjoy having the opportunity to still be involved with Healthy Life Recovery. I am now part of their Alumni Group, which means I can share my story with people with the same issues I have, and to inspire them the way I have been. I want to thank all of the staff and fellow clients at Healthy Life recovery. for helping me getting my life back on track.Posted on Chad YoungTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I definitely wanted to add a positive review from my time at Healthy Life. Recently finished my program and I am cannot say enough good things about their program or “community” of staff / clients / owners. Like many, I have been in many rehabs and sober living houses and almost always felt like a number or just money for the programs. I came out to California for rehab and everyone there served as a secure replacement for family at home. To my surprise, I found nearly everything from their groups, community outings, individual therapy, and options for exercise / MMA training the perfect combination for myself. Added, I have sat through endless rehab groups over the years and basically watched the clock for them to end. Healthy Life’s groups and therapy actually sunk into my stubborn head. The therapists / case managers / group facilitators are very knowledgeable and organized with goals to better you emotionally and physically. Anyways, I will always be grateful for my time in their program, something I cannot say for most of my rehab experiences.Posted on Seif AbutayehTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been deeply grateful for the benefits I received from their program. The group sessions bring together individuals from very diverse backgrounds, often creating powerful spaces for vulnerability, insight, and moments of real healing. That said, true recovery begins when you make a wholehearted commitment to yourself and take full accountability for your journey. After all, you’re the only one who is with yourself 24/7. During the group sessions, be honest and open. Listen not only to the facilitators, but also to your fellow peers—everyone has something valuable to offer, especially when the group is engaged and present. Healing is possible—and it begins with you. Good luck!Posted on Allison SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went to HLR for a year and it is hands down the best program in SD. The staff go above and beyond for the clients and truly care about their well being. I would recommend HLR to anyone looking to get better.
